Update on 'Super Natural' (pend) - Red dun sabino colt
Our gorgeous young man is growing into a stunning colt. Even in paddock condition, his quality is obvious. His gene tests have come back and we now can confirm that he is overo negative which means he will now be ideal to use with overo mares.

The test also confirms that he is red dun - which makes the dark shading on his legs curious. We figure that his base coat colour must be dark liver chestnut (Tribulation's colour) with the dun factor on top. Whatever it is , it is seriously gorgeous! And cute to boot!

His white markings, which are long hind leg stockings and a large belly patch, can't be well seen in these photos.

'Fascination' goes to a New Home

Congratulations to Mel Kirk on the purchase of the beautiful bay Paint Bred filly, 'Fascination'. This filly has a brilliant 100% imported pedigree, a sweet temperament and will be tall and pretty - a great asset to any broodmare band.

Mel says she plans to ride and perhaps show her this year. 'Fascination' is a full sister to 'Super Natural'.

We are HERDA Free!
One of our foundation mares, Shines Olivia, has Poco Bueno bloodlines, so we of course decided to have her tested for the inherited condition HERDA.

We are pleased to announce that Olivia has come back as HERDA N/N which means that she is not a carrier and therefore all our stock are also 'normal'.

Olivia is grand-dam of 'Super Natural' and 'Fascination' and dam of three of our mares - 'Sheza Grand Sensation', Up Close N Shameless' and 'Well Connected'.

Olivia, early this Summer - before the rain!

Sad Farewell to 'Cute'
We are sad to report that one of our mares, 'Just Two Cute', had to be euthanased in December, after complications from colic.

'Cute' was a lovely mare, born here at Rocking M and was one of our beloved 'Shameless mares'. She was on loan to Coronation Park and Kath rang me on Sunday afternoon to say that she had noticed her rolling and had brought her in to treat her for colic. We decided to immediately wean her colt foal and leave him with Kath and I brought Cute home. But despite further treatment from our vet, her condition worsened and the decision was made to put her to sleep early on Monday morning. She is now buried in the paddock where she was born.

She has left us a legacy of a lovely yearling filly by 'Tribulation' who will carry on from her. Farewell Cute, we will miss you.
